Holy Geez! It's been forever!

Oh, DUH! It was Kwaidan! Obvies.

Man. I left this up for so long, but the only person who got it was the famed Kali Ciesemier! The next one's gonna be easier. I promise!

If you haven't seen Kwaidan, I recommend it. It's three shorts based on Japanese ghost stories. So great!

I'll let you know when the next one is ready... now that I'm trying the programming they're gonna take me a little longer!

It's GALAXY EXPRESS 999! And the winner is, once again, Aaron G.! Way to go!

...Mother?

Dang, you guys. I'm not surprised you didn't know this movie, but if you're ever totally bored I think the dub is posted on youtube in sections (and that's about the only way you can get your hands on a US copy of this movie) and I highly, highly recommend it. It's directed by Rin Taro, who also directed Metropolis among other things.

Hope to see you all next week, for something a little more on-anyone's-radar.

This is another shot not particularly representative of the movie overall, but it was really striking to me (for obvious reasons) so I think you guys will be ok. I'm going to start leaving guessing open for 24 hours, too, so I'll post the answer at 7p today (tuesday, 7/13).

Man, this weeks was a hard one, huh guys? Too bad for all of you that Sam Bosma is unstoppable, putting up his second win in the first week he regained eligibility. In the immortal words of Tim Kitzrow, "He's On Fire!" (NBA Jam, 1993).

This was a hard one to draw, too. I did the title as sort of an afterthought, and I really struggled with it. I'm kind of ok with it at this point. And guys, if you don't know this scene, which many of you clearly did not, you're missing out on one of my favorite moments in cinema history (who knows why).

Hey everybody! It's week 5! Here's this weeks picture:

This was another pretty rushed one, so you may see some changes (um. the colors. and all the stuff I wanted in there that isn't in there) in the final again (tomorrow morning). I think this one is harder because I chose a scene that has very little to do with the actual plot of the movie, but then, it's also the best scene. I spent a lot of time just now adding something to make it easier for you (i think) but then took it out because I didn't like the way it looked. So get guessing! I promise a swift and beautiful postcard for whoever wins this week.

Good guessing, everybody! But you couldn't do it. Nope, you couldn't beat Kali, this week's winner and a veritable Deepwater Horizon of movie knowledge. She can't be stopped! Scores will be updated later today.

I'm really happy with this week's image. I had put tum-tum in there just for the sake of having them all in there, but that wasn't loyal to the scene and, because he was rushed, he looked pretty crappy. I also thought about putting grandpa watching over the boys from the sky, but again, time restrictions. I owe ten million thanks to Jordie, who served as my consultant on this week's image and didn't let me settle too easily (and also had a lot of input on the title, which I am super happy with). So thanks, jerk!

Come back next Tuesday (it's a holiday weekend, you'll recall) the 6th of July for who knows what movie! I don't even know yet! So it must be good!

Hey everyone,

Unfortunately do to the whirlwind of familial obligation and traveling I'm having to succumb to this summer, I'll be posting this week's movie tomorrow, Tuesday, at the usual 7pm. Next week's movie will also be posted on Tuesday due to the holiday. Thanks for understanding that all delays are in the interest of producing a better image. I think this week's will be slightly more challenging (though I'm not sure), and it's definitely a fun one, so stay tuned.

This was SUPER rushed, so final image may change a little bit... but I wanted to get something up. I left out the most recognizable character, so this one might be a little tougher, but it's still a pretty iconic scene.

It's Bong Joon-Ho's amaaaaazing monster movie, The Host!

Should I have done the Korean title? Hmm...

Yet again, most of you got it right. I think I need to figure out a way to big-up the difficulty without overdoing it. I also want to big-up my res, but that means a lot more work and I need to have time to work on other projects and have my full time job. We'll see what happens in the coming weeks.

Hey guys, I eventually want to give this project its own blog (if i ever get around to it, which so far I have been having some trouble with), but here's an illustration from a movie.
